Tonight’s GMA News Presidential Debate 2016 live stream is underway! You can watch it online with the following instructions.
GMA News and Philippines Daily Inquirer host the first Philippine Presidential Debate live stream of 2016 tonight, Sunday, February 21 at 5pm Philippine Standard Time. This Pilipinas Debate 2016 takes place at the Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro City featuring Vice President Jejomar Binay, Senator Miriam Santiago, Senator Grace Poe, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
No one from five presidential candidates will be absent from the tonight’s debate as all of them have confirmed their attendance at the first Comelec Debate to air live on GMA Network.
While the debate itself will be held in Mindanao, you don’t have to make an insanely commute to watch it in person. In fact, GMA News will stream it online for free, no subscription needed via its website. GMA News and Public Affairs and GMA New Media, Inc. (NMI), a wholly owned subsidiary of GMA and the Network’s forerunner in technology, teamed up to mount the first ever 360-degree livestream coverage of a live event in the Philippines, and one of the first worldwide.
The 360-degree livestream will be available for near-real-time viewing on GMA News Online (www.gmanetwork.com/news).
The livestream utilizes a special single web camera that captures all the 360-degree angles simultaneously.
