Local elections will be held in Parañaque City on May 9, 2016 within the Philippine general election. Registered voters will select candidates for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, the congressman, and the councilors, eight of them in the two districts of the city.
Parañaque City, a first-class city in Metro Manila, has a population of 588,126, according to the 2010 census.
With a land mass of 47.69 square kilometers, Parañaque is bordered to the north by Pasay, to the northeast by Taguig, to the southeast by Muntinlupa, to the southwest by Las Piñas, and to the west by Manila Bay.
