Local elections will be held in Muntinlupa City on May 9, 2016 within the Philippine general election. Registered voters will elect for the elective local posts in the city: the mayor, vice mayor, the congressman, and the 16 councilors, eight each in the two local legislative districts.
Muntinlupa City, a first-class city in Metro Manila, has a population of 459,941, according to the 2010 census.
With a land mass of 39.75 square kilometers, Muntinlupa is bordered on the north by Taguig; to the northwest by Parañaque; by Las Piñas to the west; to the southwest by Bacoor; by San Pedro, Laguna and Laguna de Bay to the east, the largest lake in the country.
