Results dribbled in from the Batangas City Barangay Elections 2013 on Monday, October 28, 2013. Hundreds of candidates vying for barangay chairmen or barangay captains and barangay councilors for Sangguniang Barangay posts are awaiting for the official results of the 2013 barangay elections. The entire city of Batangas in the Province of Batangas has a total of 105 barangays. Thus, a need to elect 105 barangay captains and 735 barangay councilors is certain.

Batangas City is the largest and capital city of the Province of Batangas. Dubbed as the “Industrial Port City of Calabarzon”, Batangas City is currently classified as one of the fastest urbanizing cities of the Philippines.

The city, which is part of the 2nd congressional district of Batangas Province, has a land area of 282.96 square kilometers (109.25 sq mi) and according to the 2010 census, it has a population of 305,607 people.

Batangas City, also known as the “Eco Tourist City of the Past, Present and Future”, is politically subdivided into 105 barangays.
